Accomplish what matters most.

Because we all have too much to do, it feels like our lives are out of balance. But Brian Tracy and Christina Stein argue that imbalance results not so much from doing too much but from doing too much of the wrong things. They provide a process that enables you to sort out what is most important to you from among the many activities you could focus on. When you can efficiently identify and accomplish what really matters to you, you've found your balance point.

Finding your balance point

Bestselling author and well-known speaker, Brian Tracy, has teamed up with Christina Stein to write a new book, “Find Your Balance Point Clarify Your Priorities, Simplify Your Life, and Achieve More.” The book is a quick guide to achieving self-improvement.
This book was written in part to prove that the people are feeling an imbalance in their lives today. Some experts feel the imbalance is occurring because people try to do too much in their lives. Tracey and Stein feel it’s more about people doing the wrong things in their lives including working the wrong job.
I’ve reviewed a number of Tracy’s books and have read more than I’ve reviewed. I’m a big fan of his theories and practices and his books. He’s a great writer. He and his co-writer have written a great self-help book with “Find Your Balance Point.”
They write, “Each of us has a different way of achieving true balance. Each person experiences true balance when she is operating at her own unique balance point. It’s from your balance point that you experience the highest level of clarity, commitment, strength, and confidence to pursue your ambitions.”
This book starts on page one with encouraging readers to look for ways to make needed changes in their lives. The authors tell readers they “have the power, right now, to live a life with no regrets, where you feel fully engaged in your relationships and everything you do.”
The authors address several topics in the book such as being careful about false balance, setting goals and priorities and clarity and planning. There are several worksheets for assessing your life.
One of the standout sections for me was the three components of your self-concept. The authors offer your ideal self, self-image and self-esteem. They also write about determining your values and sticking to them and that your number one top goal should be to achieve true happiness.
There has been a lot of talk over the years about the tipping point. These authors bring on a new version of this and call it the turning points.
They write, “Each person has turning points in life, after which she is never the same again. Sometimes these turning points are clear and distinctive. Sometimes they are so subtle that the person does not realize that a major change has taken place in her life until much later.”
I like this book. It’s a great read for anyone looking for a change or changes in his or her life. It is a short 96 pages long. The book stays positive through the end with the last section offering “Four Ways to Energize Your Life.”
It is one of those books that can be found in the section of my bookshelves that I use daily. I highly recommend the book.

Skip this book if you've read the classic "the 7 habits of highly effective people"by Covey;

If you haven't, consider skipping this book and read the original classic "the 7 habits of highly effective people".

The main content in this book is pretty much same. It's not a bad book, but the original was much better, you might consider to choose to spent your time wisely.
I consider myself a creative person and while it enriches my life, I pay for it with time, energy, and anxiety. Find Your Balance Point tries to help not only lower that price but give you an even better return on it.

Authors Brain Tracy and Christina Stein lay out incredibly straightforward, digestible steps and exercises designed to get you started on tis journey. It’s a self-help book, so there is a fair amount of positive reinforcement layered throughout and it can come off corny at times, but that’s to be expected. Beneath the good vibes, their thesis sounds so incredibly simple and brilliant that it lands just like common sense "Each person experiences true balance when she is operating at her own unique balance point."

So when you’re balanced, you’re balanced? Might not make a lot of sense at first glance, but the key word is “unique”. They don’t try to tell you there is one way to be productive, one way to organize your projects, and one way to lower your stress with deep breathing intervals. What Tracy and Stein attempt is to give you a workbook that allows you to design the process that works best for you and you only.

At this point in time, we have never before seen access to grow creatively, do any number of things we’ve always dreamed of, or turn the page and start an entirely new life. The internet connected us to unlimited amounts of information and like-minded people, which on one hand is amazing, but on the other hand is overwhelming. Sometimes the first step is finding out which of the innumerable things we dream of doing is really our true passion and building out our life from there. Once you’re there and everything else is directly connected or in support of that goal, that’s when you’ve found your balance point.

This book may not be the golden ticket to the nirvana you’re seeking in a currently hectic life, but it will undoubtedly give you some tips that will aid you along the way.

'Find Your Balance Point' is a quick read and I would recommend reading it through once, then going back and actually doing the exercises. That way you have a greater understanding of the goal and structure without being bogged down in worrying if you did the last assignment correctly.
